Kaushani Patel is a New York based artist born and raised in India. She is a 2017 MFA graduate from New York University and 2014 BFA graduate from Veer Narmed South Gujarat University. She has participated in group shows in India and the United states as well as a solo show at 80 WSE gallery, New York. She has received awards as Sri Thakorbhai mistry award for best display, Surat and the NYU graduate scholarship, New york.

Kaushani's work is an ongoing attempt to come to terms with her own as well as of a shared awareness of domestic spaces particular to women. It takes on a fantasy role over what happens in these spaces. Particularly, the kitchen; it becomes a center of power and control. Her practice involves photography, sculpture, drawings, installations, video and performance. Through engaging in personal histories and experiences, she sees the materials that she works with taking gender roles,memory, longing, belonging, rejecting as well as celebrating the body.
